LAPTOP PRINTING
**First, sign into the library wireless system with your library card / PIN**
**When running below files, ACCEPT or ALLOW any warning windows that occur**
**MAY NOT BE COMPATIBLE WITH MACINTOSH**
1) If using Windows Firewall, download & run the following batch file.
... This file will enable "Fire and Print Sharing" as an exception.
... This is required to allow the print client to install into temporary memory
... This is also required to allow the library printers to temporarily install into memory
** I wrote the batch file, it contains: (2 lines of notes about what it does) (1 line DOS command to enable the setting)
**Patrons using 3rd party commercial firewalls should ensure this service is permitted past their firewall**
**The Client will generate an error if the firewall is not setup properly**
examples: ZoneAlarm, Symantec Internet Security, Black Ice, etc.
Enable "File & Print Sharing" Exception in Windows Firewall
2) Open the following link and install / accept any prompts:
... This will install a print client into temporary memory
... It will be removed upon log off or reboot
3) A client will show in the task bar, keep it open.
4) Two printers will be installed on the computer
... These are temporary, and will be removed upon log-off or reboot
5) Printing is done through the Library's pay-to-print software, simply follow all prompts then come to the front desk to pickup the prints.
